Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

The new moon, August 2, will light your house of secrets, so you may be working on something highly confidential and need to keep things under wraps for several months. The emphasis on confidentiality could work in another way, when you might decide to see a psychotherapist to gain clarity on a topic that has troubled you so that you can feel whole and in balance again.

The theme of healthy mind and healthy body and spirit will run through most of the month. The month will be quiet, so you will have time to make those medical appointments you’ve been meaning to schedule with your doctor or dentist. You will have time to have your eyes checked to see if your prescription has changed, do your mammogram or prostrate exam as the case may be, or have a colonoscopy.

Your health will become more of a priority at the full moon August 18, in Aquarius. You may decide that this is the right time to schedule a hospital exam, procedure, or surgery that you’ve put off. If so, schedule it in August. Uranus will be friendly to this full moon, a good sign that you’ll likely have a happy resolve, assuming you’ve done your research and have faith in your doctor.

At work, you may see co-workers come and go, or a trusted assistant leave. Certainly an important project is nearing completion and you will have to pace yourself as not to become overworked and overtired – this project will require a strenuous effort. If you need help, you won’t have time to hire and train new recruits. It would be best to hire after Mercury, your ruler, is finished retrograding anyway. (Mercury will retrograde from August 30 to September 22.) You can interview candidates all month, but you would be best to put off choosing the one(s) you will hire you want – name your choices in late September.

At home, you may want to move forward but be frustrated with delays especially on or very near August 24. Mars will align with Saturn, and this is a stop-go aspect. Take a deep breath – better days are due all month, as you will soon see. With Mars causing noise in your home, you may have workmen there, you may be moving, or you may be entertaining up a storm and have guests in your guest room (or on the sofa), too.

One of very best days of the month will be August 22, when your ruler, Mercury will meet with Jupiter in Virgo – a truly glorious and exceedingly rare aspect. Although these two planets will align again, this aspect won’t happen again in Virgo for 12 years. This could be an exceptional day for your career or for anything dearly important to you, personal or professional.

The other stellar day, equally rare, will be August 27 when Venus will align perfectly with Jupiter in Virgo, and this date falls over a weekend. You may travel to a distant city, or you may discover that a generous check is heading your way too. You will be ultra-alluring and magnetic too over this weekend – this is your time to shine. If you are attached, you can plan a surprise for your partner. If you are single, circulate or schedule this day for a first date. If you hope for a baby, news should be exciting. If you have had problems with conception, see a fertility doctor in the days leading to August 27 as the aspect builds.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

August is for play, so don’t even THINK of spending long hours at the office. Friends will begin to play a big part of your life once the new moon, August 2, appears. Saturn will be helpful to that new moon in Leo, so you may make a lifelong friend this month, or you may befriend an older person who can advise you on various topics in your life, or even become a mentor to you in business. The two weeks following this new moon, August 2, will be dotted with many lunches, dinners, visits to concerts and museums, shopping, and going to the movies and parties. You’ll be in your element, seeing friends and making new ones.

If you go to professional trade shows, mixers, conferences, and other industry events, many will be exciting – be sure you have a supply of business cards to give to those you’d like to know better. You may learn of lucrative new business you can bring in, or about a position that is just opening up that you should aim to get, because your background and experience would fit in perfectly. Your friend might even be willing to make the introduction.

A full moon in is due on August 18 – the only one of the year in Aquarius – and will light your fifth house of true love. This should bring on a positive romantic experience. If you are dating, you will want to decide where to take this relationship – to a more serious, exclusive level? Engagement? If you are not happy, you may agree to end your romantic relationship and agree to be “just friends” if you like. Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

It may be August, when lots of people take a holiday, but you will need to stay in town, for you will have a big chance to make a name for yourself in your career. A major change in your family, home, or other property you might own or rent will also be on your mind.

In terms of your career, it will get a big, exciting boost the moment you start the month, thanks to the new moon, August 2. In the two weeks that follow this date. You might get an exciting promotion or an offer from a competitor to join their company. If you are self-employed, new business or positive publicity should put your name on the big marquee in your industry. Saturn will be especially friendly to this new moon, indicating that not only are you capable of getting a glorious new title, but also be given a solid salary, one that give you a very comforting sense of security.

Your spending has been high from March to June, and will start climbing again in August and September. This may make you more determined to increase your cash flow.
